Bilton School in Valmy!

   What are they waiting for?

On Friday, September 14th, Valmy school was lucky because we had some special visitors: English students from Bilton school, in Rugby, England. They came with their teachers: Miss Grimes and Miss Cranmer.  The" Section Européenne 4e" welcomed them.

Before the English pupils arrived, everybody in our class helped preparing the hall.
There were some home-made cakes, some pies…
When everything was ready, all the pupils went outside to meet our English friends at the entrance, but they were late and we waited a bit.

Everybody was excited, especially the girls! They were jumping and running around. We all shouted “Hello” to the English students when they arrived. That was funny!

During the lunch, we talked with our English friends about their trip to Paris, mainly in English!

Lots of Valmy’s pupils were curious and wanted to participate. So, they stayed around or behind the windows. Maybe they were attracted by the cakes! The English students asked us “Did they get any food?” It was very funny!

After eating, we all went out to the schoolyard. One English student asked:
"Where is the football pitch*?"
Their school is so big that they have a football pitch!

*football pitch= terrain de foot

A lot of Valmy students said hello to the Bilton ones, and could talk with them..

It's too bad, the English students didn't wear their uniforms!

We talked a lot together. The English students spoke in French, and we spoke in English. We talked about what we like, about our families, our hobbies...  The " 3eA" joined us after lunch to exchange with the English students.

 We played a game called "42". An English boy had to walk like a chicken and shout "poc, poc, poc": it was his forfeit* for losing.

* forfeit = gage

In the end, everybody sang "Elle me dit" and " Help" together. It was great fun!
